Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of MentorME - including session booking, payments, mentor interactions, and account management. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, signing in with Google, or otherwise accessing MentorME, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use our platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MentorME, operated from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

2. Eligibility

To use MentorME you must:

  • Be at least 13 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction
  • Not have been previously suspended or removed from MentorME for violating these Terms
  • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during registration

Mentors are individually reviewed and approved by the MentorME administration team before they can accept sessions. Admin accounts are created and managed solely by MentorME operations staff.

3. Accounts & Registration

Account Creation

Mentees may register via email/password or “Sign in with Google.” Email registrations require email verification before access is granted. Google sign-in accounts are considered verified automatically. Mentor accounts are provisioned exclusively by MentorME administrators.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at admin.mentorme@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Accurate Information

You agree to provide and maintain accurate, current, and complete profile information. Misrepresentation of your identity, credentials, or qualifications is grounds for immediate account termination.

4. Use of the Platform

Permitted Use

MentorME is a platform that facilitates one-on-one mentorship sessions between verified mentors and registered mentees. You may use MentorME solely for lawful, personal, educational, and professional development purposes.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false payment transaction IDs or attempt to fraudulently claim a session without completing payment
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against mentors, mentees, or platform staff
  • Use the platform to solicit business, advertise services, or recruit users outside of MentorME without prior written consent
  • Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the platform
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the platform
  • Share your account credentials with any third party or allow others to access your account
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, or any content that could harm MentorME or its users

5. Session Booking & Conduct

Booking Process

To book a session, mentees submit a session request specifying the desired category, date/time, and other details. All sessions require payment verification via a mobile financial service (MFS) transaction ID before being confirmed. A session is only officially scheduled once an administrator verifies the payment and a mentor is assigned.

Mentee Responsibilities

  • Arrive punctually for scheduled sessions; repeated no-shows may result in account suspension
  • Treat mentors with respect and professionalism at all times
  • Provide honest, constructive feedback after each session
  • Not record or distribute session content without the explicit consent of the mentor

Mentor Responsibilities

  • Conduct sessions in the stated category and with the expertise represented in your profile
  • Honor confirmed session appointments punctually
  • Maintain professional, respectful communication with mentees
  • Submit honest session reports upon completion of each session
  • Not solicit private payment from mentees outside the MentorME platform

Reschedule & Cancellation

Rescheduling requests may be submitted by mentors for confirmed sessions. Cancellations and refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of MentorME administrators. We reserve the right to cancel any session if payment verification fails or if either party violates these Terms.

6. Payments & Fees

Payment Method

MentorME accepts payments via Mobile Financial Services (MFS) such as bKash and other supported providers configured by our administrators. Session pricing is determined by the service category and published on our pricing pages. All prices are in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT).

Payment Verification

You are required to provide a valid MFS transaction ID when booking a session. Providing a false or duplicate transaction ID constitutes fraud and will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.

Mentor Earnings

Mentors earn a platform-defined fee for each completed session. Earnings are credited to mentors' platform wallet balances and may be withdrawn via MFS. Withdrawal requests are subject to administrative review. MentorME reserves the right to withhold or revoke earnings in cases of policy violations, disputed sessions, or fraudulent activity.

Refunds

Refunds are not automatically guaranteed. If a session is cancelled due to mentor unavailability or a platform error, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a refund or session credit. Dissatisfaction with session outcomes does not constitute grounds for an automatic refund. To request a refund, contact us at admin.mentorme@gmail.com.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to MentorME (e.g., profile information, session feedback, and uploaded files). By submitting content, you grant MentorME a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit the content and that the content does not violate any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or applicable law.

MentorME reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we deem harmful, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate, without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

The MentorME platform - including its name, logo, design, software, text, graphics, and all associated content - is owned by MentorME and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any part of MentorME without our prior written consent. Limited use for personal, non-commercial purposes (e.g., sharing a session summary you personally authored) is permitted.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

MentorME reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account, at our sole discretion, for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service
  • Fraudulent payment submissions or financial misconduct
  • Abusive, harassing, or inappropriate behavior
  • Misrepresentation of identity or qualifications
  • Repeated no-shows or session abandonment without notice
  • Any activity that jeopardizes platform integrity or user safety

Blocked accounts lose access to all platform features. Outstanding mentor earnings at the time of suspension may be withheld pending investigation. You may appeal a suspension by contacting us at admin.mentorme@gmail.com.

You may also voluntarily delete your account at any time by contacting our support team.

10. Disclaimers

MentorME provides a platform for connecting mentees with mentors. We do not guarantee:

  • The accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any mentor's advice, feedback, or guidance
  • Specific academic results, career outcomes, or professional achievements as a result of mentorship
  • Uninterrupted or error-free availability of the platform

The platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MentorME and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or dissatisfaction with session outcomes. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of MentorME shall not exceed the total amount you paid to MentorME in the three months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. If we make significant changes that affect your rights, we will endeavor to notify registered users via email. Your continued use of MentorME after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
